MEET OUR PASTOR

PASTOR
PASTOR
THUSTON L. PACKNETT, II
Pastor Thuston L. Packnett II, is a fourth-generation member of the Church of God in Christ (COGIC), carrying forward a distinguished legacy of ministry and service. As the son of the late Administrative Assistant Thuston L. Packnett Sr. and Lady Bertha Packnett, the paternal grandson of the late Deacon John and Mother Connie Packnett, the maternal grandson of the late Elder John Gay (Rose) and Mother Lola Dozier (George), and the great-grandson of the late Supt. James Cason and the late Evangelist Rosa Reed-Cason (Dean of Girls for the COGIC College in Lexington), he was immersed in church leadership from an early age.

Pastor Packnett's foundation in ministry began as a child at Greater Holy Temple COGIC under the leadership of Bishop C.N. Rucker and Dr. J.C. Haynes, where he developed his skills in music ministry and interest in church administration. His early passion for church operations was evident in his dedication to studying the COGIC manual and historical documents while spending time with his grandmother, Mother Connie Packnett. This dedication caught the attention of Bishop Emanuel Newton, who encouraged his involvement in the General Assembly as a lay delegate as a teen.

In 2002, Pastor Packnett joined as a charter member of Redemption Ministries, the church founded by his father, Administrative Assistant Thuston L. Packnett Sr.

Pastor Packnett has served in numerous vital roles within the local church as both musician and Minister Of Music. As Youth Pastor, he has played a role in mentoring and guiding the next generation of believers. His administrative capabilities and leadership skills have been demonstrated through his position as a corporate board member, his successful oversight as Chairman of the Pastor and Wife Anniversary celebrations, and his oversight of media ministry. Through these diverse roles, Pastor Packnett has shown his commitment to building a strong, purpose-driven church that serves both its congregation and the broader community.

Ordained as an Elder on August 16, 2014, in the Missouri Western First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction under Bishop Frank H. Douglas Jr., and now a member of the Missouri Midwest Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction under the leadership of General Board Member Bishop Ejiah Hankerson.

Pastor Packnett has held numerous leadership positions across multiple levels of the church:

**District:**
- Vice President of the District Music Department
- Executive Assistant

**Jurisdictional:**
- Vice President of the Youth Department
- Vice President of the Music Department
- Vice Chairman of AIM
- Jurisdictional Adjutant
- Special Advisor for the AIM Chairman

**National:**
- Certified National Adjutant
- IDOE NexGen Executive Board Member
- IYD Manhood Assistant Coordinator
- Administrative Assistant To IYD Vice President
- Holy Convocation Program Committee

Beyond denominational service, Pastor Packnett has extended his ministry into ecumenical outreach as a S.I.G.Y.B Conference Staff Member and Power of Pentecost Conference Logistics Coordinator. He has also partnered with various regional ministry groups to provide food and clothing to those in need within the community.

Pastor Packnett is the Founder and Chairman of The Zoom Crew, demonstrating his innovative approach to ministry and leadership.

Pastor Packnett's ministry focuses on reaching people where they are, with particular emphasis on community outreach, youth and young adult engagement, senior care, mentorship, family focus, and world missions. His mission is to be God's earthly example of His divine plan, purpose, and commission, while building upon the foundation laid by his father through purpose-driven ministry.

Following the homegoing of his father, Administrative Assistant Thuston Packnett Sr. on December 6, 2024, Pastor Packnett, after much prayer, counsel, and family support, offered himself to the church and Jurisdictional Bishop Elijah Hankerson to serve as the next Pastor of Redemption Ministries. With Bishop Hankerson's approval and appointment on February 6, 2025, he became the Pastor Designate and was officially installed as Pastor on February 29, 2025.

A devoted family man, Pastor Packnett is a proud father and grandfather, and he is happily married to the love of his life, First Lady Melody Amber Jones-Packnett.
